Four of our Aseniwuche Winewak Nation Elders share caribou stories and memories with us in their native language - Cree
(when the Elders are speaking in Cree, there are English subtitles)
Many thanks to Roland Karakuntie, Tommy Wanyandie, Philomene Moberly, and Joe Karakuntie for sharing their caribou stories and memories with us!
We began filming near the Smoky River in August, 2020. We debuted our short film with big screen events on March 19, 2022 in Grande Cache and on April 6, 2022 at The PATH in Hinton. The film was well received in both communities and is available for viewing anytime on our YouTube channel at: Aseniwuche Elders: Atih Acimowina (youtube.com)
We would like to thank C.I.A. Solutions INC for their amazing work in helping to bring our vision to life and also to Imperial for the generous sponsorship to make this happen.
May our connection with the caribou continue for generations to come.
